STANDING ORDER
To
All Collectors,
Subject: The granting of leases by lessors of immovable property under the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 60 of 1958), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the granting of leases by lessors of immovable property.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessor of immovable property carrying on the granting of leases shall make an application in Form G to the Chief Controlling Revenue Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Collector shall ensure that adhesive stamp is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Controlling Revenue Authority within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Maharashtra.
