STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Motor Vehicles,

Subject: The use of a private service vehicle by owners of a private service vehicle under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of a private service vehicle by owners of a private service vehicle.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private service vehicle carrying on the use of a private service vehicle shall make an application in Form 23 to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles shall ensure that insurance certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Transport Appellate Tribunal within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Kerala.
