STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Registrar of Co-operative Societies,

Subject: Membership of a society by members under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961 (Punjab Act 23 of 1961), the General Administration Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to membership of a society by members.

2. The matter has been examined. Every member carrying on membership of a society shall make an application in Form C to the Market Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies shall ensure that society is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Market Committee within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Punjab.
