STANDING ORDER
To
All Incident Commanders,
Subject: The operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962 (Kerala Act 20 of 1962), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a dam carrying on the operation of a dam in an emergency shall make an application in Form C to the District Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Incident Commander shall ensure that plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Kerala.
