STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Tamil Nadu Cultivating Tenants Protection Act, 1955, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Cultivating Tenants Protection Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1955), the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
