To
All Energy Auditors,
Subject: The trading of electricity by trading licensees under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006 (19 of 2006), the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the trading of electricity by trading licensees.
2. The matter has been examined. Every trading licensee carrying on the trading of electricity shall make an application in Form III to the Central Commission within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the trading of electricity is undertaken, and the Central Commission shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
