STANDING ORDER

To

All Charity Commissioners,

Subject: The collection of donations for a charity by collectors of donations under the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Maharashtra Act 29 of 1950), the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of donations for a charity by collectors of donations.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of donations carrying on the collection of donations for a charity shall make an application in Form E to the Endowments Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Charity Commissioner shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Endowments Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
