STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Transport Commissioners,

Subject: Service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974 (Tamil Nadu Act 13 of 1974), the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to service as a conductor by conductors of a stage carriage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every conductor of a stage carriage carrying on service as a conductor shall make an application in Form 30 to the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Transport Commissioner shall ensure that driving licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
