OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Work in the unorganised sector by unorganised workers under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which work in the unorganised sector by unorganised workers is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Mathadi, Hamal and Other Manual Workers Act, 1969.

2. The matter has been examined. Every unorganised worker carrying on work in the unorganised sector shall make an application in Form 1 to the Employees' Insurance Court within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which work in the unorganised sector is undertaken, and the Employees' Insurance Court shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
