STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Charity Commissioners,

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950 (Maharashtra Act 29 of 1950), the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form G to the Board within three hundred and sixty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Charity Commissioner shall ensure that budget is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board within three hundred and sixty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra.
