STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Regional Transport Officers,

Subject: The carriage of goods by road by transport operators under the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Act, 1985 (Kerala Act 21 of 1985), the Transport Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carriage of goods by road by transport operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transport operator carrying on the carriage of goods by road shall make an application in Form 1 to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Regional Transport Officer shall ensure that toll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
