STANDING ORDER

All Health Officers,

Subject: The slaughter of animals by keepers of a slaughter house under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the slaughter of animals by keepers of a slaughter house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a slaughter house carrying on the slaughter of animals shall make an application in Form E to the Development Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Health Officer shall ensure that trade licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Development Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat.
