STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Registrars,

Subject: The management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Tourism Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manager of a joint family property carrying on the management of joint family property shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Uttarakhand within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Sub-Registrar shall ensure that register of deaths is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttarakhand within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
