OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.

2. The matter has been examined. Every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall make an application in Form IV to the Government of Uttarakhand within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the arranging of marriages is undertaken, and the Government of Uttarakhand shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
