OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a common service centre by operators of a common service centre under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the running of a common service centre by operators of a common service centre is to be regulated under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a common service centre carrying on the running of a common service centre shall make an application in Form 1 to the District Panchayat within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a common service centre is undertaken, and the District Panchayat shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal.
