OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The command of a ship by masters under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the command of a ship by masters is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every master carrying on the command of a ship shall make an application in Form 5 to the Director-General within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the command of a ship is undertaken, and the Director-General shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.
