STANDING ORDER

To

All Child Welfare Officers,

Subject: The administration of a family settlement by trustees of a family settlement under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the administration of a family settlement by trustees of a family settlement.

2. The matter has been examined. Every trustee of a family settlement carrying on the administration of a family settlement shall make an application in Form VII to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Child Welfare Officer shall ensure that marriage register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
