STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Marriages,

Subject: The foster care of a child by foster parents under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the foster care of a child by foster parents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every foster parent carrying on the foster care of a child shall make an application in Form II to the Maintenance Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar of Marriages shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Maintenance Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
