STANDING ORDER

To

All Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The use of electricity by consumers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 24 of 2003), the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of electricity by consumers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every consumer carrying on the use of electricity shall make an application in Form VIII to the Central Commission within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Electrical Inspector shall ensure that storage tank is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Commission within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Gujarat.
