STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Marriages,

Subject: The arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Law Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus.

2. The matter has been examined. Every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall make an application in Form VII to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Registrar of Marriages shall ensure that certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Adoption Resource Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
