STANDING ORDER

All Range Forest Officers,

Subject: The collection of biological resources by collectors of biological resources under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of biological resources by collectors of biological resources.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of biological resources carrying on the collection of biological resources shall make an application in Form VII to the Biodiversity Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Range Forest Officer shall ensure that waste manifest is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Biodiversity Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Kerala.
