OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the operation of a water supply scheme by operators of a water supply scheme is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a water supply scheme carrying on the operation of a water supply scheme shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Tamil Nadu within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a water supply scheme is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
