STANDING ORDER

All Drugs Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a diagnostic laboratory by diagnostic laboratories under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1949), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a diagnostic laboratory by diagnostic laboratories.

2. The matter has been examined. Every diagnostic laboratory carrying on the running of a diagnostic laboratory shall make an application in Form 29 to the Appropriate Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Drugs Inspector shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appropriate Authority within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
