CIRCULAR

To

All Registrars of the Council,

Subject: The running of a blood bank by blood banks under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 (30 of 2019), the National Medical Commission hereby issues the following

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a blood bank by blood banks.

2. The matter has been examined. Every blood bank carrying on the running of a blood bank shall make an application in Form 21 to the Appropriate Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a blood bank is undertaken, and the Appropriate Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the National Medical Commission.
