OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Excise Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands is to be regulated under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 12 to the Land Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use is undertaken, and the Land Tribunal shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Gujarat.
