OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The consignment of goods by consignors under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the consignment of goods by consignors is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every consignor carrying on the consignment of goods shall make an application in Form E to the Registrar of Chits within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the consignment of goods is undertaken, and the Registrar of Chits shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
