STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors,

Subject: The business of hire-purchase by hire-purchase financiers under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 (Maharashtra Act 61 of 2017), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the business of hire-purchase by hire-purchase financiers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hire-purchase financier carrying on the business of hire-purchase shall make an application in Form H to the Registrar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Inspector shall ensure that register of contracts is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
