OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant is to be regulated under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form H to the Government of Karnataka within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the treatment of sewage is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
