STANDING ORDER

To

All Surveyors,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954 (Delhi Act 8 of 1954), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Surveyor shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
