OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the holding of land by landholders is to be regulated under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of land is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
