STANDING ORDER

To

All Specified Officers,

Subject: Dealing in foreign exchange as an authorised dealer by authorised dealers under the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005 (Tamil Nadu Act 18 of 2005), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in foreign exchange as an authorised dealer by authorised dealers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every authorised dealer carrying on dealing in foreign exchange as an authorised dealer shall make an application in Form SEZ-1 to the Director General within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Specified Officer shall ensure that certificate of origin is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director General within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
