STANDING ORDER

To

All Facilitators,

Subject: The running of a commercial establishment by keepers of a commercial establishment under the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 46 of 1981), the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a commercial establishment by keepers of a commercial establishment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a commercial establishment carrying on the running of a commercial establishment shall make an application in Form V to the Industrial Tribunal within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Facilitator shall ensure that register of wages is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Industrial Tribunal within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
