STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Secretaries,

Subject: The appearance before an inquiry by persons subject to an inquiry under the Maharashtra Official Languages Act, 1965, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Official Languages Act, 1965 (Maharashtra Act 5 of 1965), the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the appearance before an inquiry by persons subject to an inquiry.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person subject to an inquiry carrying on the appearance before an inquiry shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Maharashtra within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Secretary shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra.
