OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sale of arms and ammunition by dealers in arms and ammunition under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the sale of arms and ammunition by dealers in arms and ammunition is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in arms and ammunition carrying on the sale of arms and ammunition shall make an application in Form V to the Commissioner of Police within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sale of arms and ammunition is undertaken, and the Commissioner of Police shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
