STANDING ORDER

To

All Patwaris,

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 8 to the Land Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Patwari shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha.
