OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The discharge of effluent by persons carrying on an industry under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the discharge of effluent by persons carrying on an industry is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person carrying on an industry carrying on the discharge of effluent shall make an application in Form I to the Central Board within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the discharge of effluent is undertaken, and the Central Board shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
