OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The holding of a beauty contest by organisers of a beauty contest under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the holding of a beauty contest by organisers of a beauty contest is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002.
2. The matter has been examined. Every organiser of a beauty contest carrying on the holding of a beauty contest shall make an application in Form V to the District Child Protection Unit within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of a beauty contest is undertaken, and the District Child Protection Unit shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
