STANDING ORDER

All Audit Officers,

Subject: The sale of lottery tickets by lottery agents under the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management Act, 2005 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 2005), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of lottery tickets by lottery agents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lottery agent carrying on the sale of lottery tickets shall make an application in Form GFR 40 to the Accountant General within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Audit Officer shall ensure that bid is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Accountant General within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
