OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a licensed guest house by licensees under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a licensed guest house by licensees is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee carrying on the running of a licensed guest house shall make an application in Form II to the Competent Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a licensed guest house is undertaken, and the Competent Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
