OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a fair price shop by fair price shop dealers under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a fair price shop by fair price shop dealers is to be regulated under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021.

2. The matter has been examined. Every fair price shop dealer carrying on the running of a fair price shop shall make an application in Form H to the Commissioner of Food Safety within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a fair price shop is undertaken, and the Commissioner of Food Safety shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka.
