STANDING ORDER

To

All Provost Marshals,

Subject: Residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders... Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person residing in a prohibited area carrying on residence in a prohibited area shall make an application in Form G to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Provost Marshal shall ensure that stores is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commanding Officer of the Unit within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
