STANDING ORDER

To

All Sanitary Inspectors,

Subject: The collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection under the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972 (Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 1972), the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for solid waste collection carrying on the collection of solid waste shall make an application in Form B to the Town Vending Committee within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Sanitary Inspector shall ensure that sanitary certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Vending Committee within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
