OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a school by schools under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a school by schools is to be regulated under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982.

2. The matter has been examined. Every school carrying on the running of a school shall make an application in Form IV to the District Magistrate within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a school is undertaken, and the District Magistrate shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
