STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Labour Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 5 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Punjab.
