OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths under the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registrar of births and deaths carrying on the registration of births and deaths shall make an application in Form VII to the District Registrar within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the registration of births and deaths is undertaken, and the District Registrar shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
