STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Development Officers,

Subject: The running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a village bus stand by licensees of a village bus stand.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a village bus stand carrying on the running of a village bus stand shall make an application in Form 5 to the Zila Parishad within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Panchayat Development Officer shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Zila Parishad within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
