OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a residential facility by operators of a residential facility under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the running of a residential facility by operators of a residential facility is to be regulated under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a residential facility carrying on the running of a residential facility shall make an application in Form II to the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a residential facility is undertaken, and the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
