OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Rajasthan on the manner in which the treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant is to be regulated under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form A to the Dam Safety Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the treatment of sewage is undertaken, and the Dam Safety Authority shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Rajasthan.
