OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The management of an irrigation system by a water user association by water user associations under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the management of an irrigation system by a water user association by water user associations is to be regulated under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011.

2. The matter has been examined. Every water user association carrying on the management of an irrigation system by a water user association shall make an application in Form G to the Irrigation Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of an irrigation system by a water user association is undertaken, and the Irrigation Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Karnataka.
