STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Guards,
Subject: The tapping of toddy by toddy tappers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the tapping of toddy by toddy tappers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every toddy tapper carrying on the tapping of toddy shall make an application in Form C to the Commissioner within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Excise Guard shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner within fourteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Punjab.
